The original hand buzzer was known as a Joy buzzer and was invented in 1928 by Soren Sorensen Adams, who ran a practical joke company and patented over 40 different products in his life time. It does not give an electric shock as the name might suggest, but rather works on the principal of surprise and gives the recipient a loud vibrating buzz. The "Shock" has been updated and really does give a small shock, so pick your weapon carefully, depending on the effect you are going for. Great to scare children or to liven up a boring meetings with people you have to shake hand with!
